How to Update Yealink BH71 Headset Firmware

At a Glance – Updating Your BH71 Headset

• Download and install Yealink USB Connect from support.yealink.com.

• Place the BH71 headset in its charging case and power it on.

• Connect to your PC using either:

  • USB cable (standard method), or

  • BT51 dongle (BH71 Pro only).

• Open Yealink USB Connect → go to Update device.

• Click “Update Now” to install the latest firmware (or choose Update Manually if you have a file).

Keeping your Yealink BH71 headset up to date ensures the best performance, audio quality, and compatibility. Updates are completed through the Yealink USB Connect software with the headset in its charging case.

You can connect to your PC either with the included USB cable or, if you have the BH71 Pro, using the BT51 dongle.

Method 1: Update Using the USB Cable

This is the standard and most reliable method.

1. Download Yealink USB Connect

   • Go to the official Yealink Support website and download the latest version of Yealink USB Connect for your PC.

   • Install the software.

2. Power on and position the headset

   • Turn on the BH71 headset.

   • Place it securely on its charging stand/case.

3. Connect to the PC

   • Use the provided USB cable to connect the charging case to your PC.

4. Run Yealink USB Connect

   • Open the software. Your headset should be detected automatically.

5. Check for and install updates

   • Go to Update device in the software.

   • Choose one of the following:

     • Update Now – Automatically installs the latest firmware.

     • Update Manually – Select a firmware file if you already downloaded it from the Yealink support site.

Method 2: Update Using the BT51 Dongle (BH71 Pro only)

If you have the BH71 Pro, you can update wirelessly with the included BT51 dongle.

1. Download and install Yealink USB Connect

   • Same as described in Method 1.

2. Connect the dongle

   • Plug the BT51 Bluetooth dongle into a USB port on your PC.

3. Power on the headset

   • Turn on your BH71 Pro headset.

   • It will automatically pair with the dongle.

4. Run Yealink USB Connect

   • Open the software and go to Update device.

5. Check for and install updates

   • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update.
